A Buddhist is a person who takes refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha — the "Three Jewels." In this course we will find out more about the Three Jewels, what taking refuge means, and why the Three Jewels are suitable objects of refuge. We will also explore the essential practices of refuge.  We will learn about the advantage of cultivating a sense of protection and safety through the example of the triple gem and how it is possible to rely on them to enhance our spiritual growth, as well as understanding the role of the lay vows.

Class Materials:

1. Required Readings

2. FPMT Booklet found here: https://shop.fpmt.org/Refuge-in-the-Three-Jewels-eBook-PDF-_p_3072.html
