Revealing Your Buddha Nature: Exploring Chapter One of the Sublime Continuum (Uttaratantra) on Our Potential for Enlightenment and on Refuge

Most suitable for practicing Buddhists and non-Buddhists already familiar with foundational Buddhist concepts

According to the Mahayana Buddhist tradition, we each have two kinds of Buddha-Nature or potential.  One is the ultimate nature of our own mind, which can never be stained or polluted, and the other is our naturally occurring, current good qualities which can be limitlessly increased through practice.

This series of classes will explore these two kinds of vast potential that we each possess.  It will also explore how the practices of taking refuge, developing great compassion, and cultivating wisdom allow our buddha potential to be uncovered and developed!  This series classes will be based on the explanation of these topics which appears in the first chapter of a famous text by Maitreya (whose name means "Loving One") entitled the Sublime Continuum (Uttaratantra in Sanskrit).

This set of classes is part of FPMT's Basic Program, and those who attend the majority of classes in the series will receive a completion certificate for this module.  This topic is most suitable for those with some previous familiarity with core concepts of Mahayana Buddhism.  (We expect classes in this series to occur an average of twice a month on Saturdays and to last for 6-9 months)..
